How Order Brings Productivity
I love order, and I strongly believe you do too.
Yes, it might be hard to achieve at all times but when it’s there, we enjoy its fruits.
Oh, and by the way, let this not pressure you at all because order is relative.
Some people are orderly to a T while others have a good amount of order to make things a bit manageable.
What works for me is to have the three most important areas organized: (your physical space, your mind, and your money).
If these areas are in chaos, it will effortlessly show. I can confidently say that about myself.
I share a few tips and tricks to help you create order in your home. You can find them here.
Having order has many benefits but the most beneficial thing is how greatly it contributes to your productivity.
I’m strongly convinced productivity is birthed from order.
Let me try to paint that picture for you.
If you are the kind of person who loves to work with to-do lists, writing them early in the morning or the previous night gives you a glimpse of how the day looks.
The reverse is true, without the list to bring that order, it’s easy to waste the day.
How then does that order bring productivity?

1. Task Prioritization
When you organize your tasks by order of priority, you give more attention to those that are important.
Your time is not stolen by less important tasks.
2. Eliminate Clutter
A clean and orderly workspace helps you focus and you won’t waste time looking for things that might be misplaced.
3. Time Management
When you work with a well-structured schedule, you allocate time efficiently and you get to complete tasks in good time.
You actually have more time on your hands to do other things.
4. Improved Focus
Well-structured environments remove any form of distraction and help you focus on the tasks at hand.
Picture this, working on a desk that has breakfast utensils. I don’t know about you, but the organizer in me will not start working until the table is cleared.
That means time wasted. See what I mean?
5. Reduced Stress
There is some level of stress associated with disorderly spaces.
Order helps you think clearly and that means you make better decisions.
6. Creates Efficiency
When all your work tools are organized, it’s easy to move from one task to the next without wasting time.
Your workflow becomes seamless.
7. Better Teamwork
When roles and responsibilities are well assigned, it acts as an ordered system where people can easily collaborate and get better results.
8. Increased Accountability
I’d say for both you and your team.
If you have a tracking system for your work and your team, that brings order.
Accountability helps you see areas of improvement and celebration.
9. Reduces Desiciosn Fatigue
Order creates some level of automation and that means fewer decisions for you to make and more focus on other things.
10. Recuses Errors
Many errors occur as a result of poor planning, miscommunication, and disorganization.
Introducing order into a space will minimize the errors you are likely to make.
11. Consistency in Performance
Routines and structure bring consistency and it’s easy to predict results based on your track record.
12. Reduces Burnout
When you have structures in how you do your things, it helps you distribute tasks evenly and that way you do not do everything at once.
You pace yourself depending on the weight of the tasks.
13. Boosts Morale
There is nothing that beats a well-organized workspace.
(No offense to coffee lovers)
A good work environment fosters a sense of control and achievement and in the end, your work morale is improved.
